Credit Union 1 opened its doors in 1958 in Rantoul, IL. Since then we have grown, with locations in three states: Illinois, Indiana and Nevada. While many things have changed since 1958, our dedication to serving our members has remained constant.  Membership in a credit union has many benefits when compared to being a customer at a traditional bank. Springfield is the capital of Illinois, located in Central Illinois, just over 200 miles south of Chicago. The population of the city is just over 115,000 residents, while the entire metro area holds about 211,000 people. Of course, the most famous resident Springfield has ever known was Abraham Lincoln, the 16^th president of the United States. Mr. Lincoln lived in Springfield for 24 years, right up until being elected president. The city is an exciting tourist attraction with many sights to see. Visitors can tour the capital building, Mr. Lincoln’s home, tomb and presidential museum.
