Last month was filled with meaningful partnerships, financial education, and community impact across Credit Union 1 branches. From supporting local food pantries to engaging students and small businesses, our teams continued to show up in powerful ways.
The Evergreen Park Branch donated $1,000 to the Evergreen Park Food Pantry and volunteered on-site to help distribute food to families in need. The UIC Branches had a strong presence both on campus and in the community, promoting the UIC Ignite Checking Account at a UIC basketball game while debuting new custom UIC debit cards. The team also hosted Lumity financial literacy sessions and continued partnerships with the UI Health Urban Health Program and UIC Early Outreach Program, educating students on banking basics, budgeting, and fraud prevention.
The Paseo Branch supported youth literacy by reading to elementary school students, encouraging reading and engagement at a young age. In Rantoul, the branch completed a two-part financial literacy series for DREAAM students, covering savings, budgeting, credit, and fraud prevention. The team also participated in the ImpactLife blood drive, potentially helping save 21 lives. The Matteson Branch strengthened community and business relationships by attending the Unity Small Business Market and supporting the Rich Township Black History Awards Celebration through raffle and silent auction contributions.
Last month demonstrated Credit Union 1’s ongoing dedication to financial empowerment, education, and community investment. Whether in classrooms, community centers, sporting arenas, or local markets, our teams continue to make a meaningful difference where it matters most.
