January was an impactful start to the year for Credit Union 1, with branches focusing on financial education and community support across multiple regions.
The month was led by the Minot Branch, which partnered with the North Dakota Jump$tart Coalition to participate in the Marketplace for Kids event, teaching financial literacy to more than 200 students in grades 4–6. The team focused on good money habits and fraud prevention, helping students build strong financial foundations early.
In Chicago, the UIC West Branch supported youth education through the UI Health Urban Health Early Outreach Program, delivering an introductory banking session for pre-college students, and participated in the Financial and Investments Challenge Bowl at Malcolm X College, serving as a quizmaster and connecting with educators to expand future financial literacy efforts.
The Evergreen Park Branch presented a financial literacy session to Lumity students and attended the Danny Davis Small Business Mixer, strengthening relationships with local business owners and community leaders. Meanwhile, the Rantoul Branch continued its community support by volunteering at the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry, helping distribute food boxes to approximately 70 families. Together, these efforts highlight Credit Union 1’s continued commitment to financial empowerment, education, and community partnership, bringing a great start to the year.
