October was another active month for Credit Union 1 nationwide, with branches engaging in a wide variety of community and financial literacy events. The Big Lake branch in Minnesota officially joined the team, attending the Community Connect event to help community members access vital resources and experience a sense of local connection. Meanwhile, the Bradenton branch continued its commitment to supporting Florida small businesses and entrepreneurs by partnering with Realize Bradenton – StartUp Circle to share resources on credit and financial wellness. The Lombard branch in Illinois engaged youth in financial literacy through a Bite of Reality workshop with Lumity Maywood Cohort, providing valuable budgeting lessons and life skills to young adults.
Other branches hosted impactful events for both youth and adults. The Rantoul Branch presented multiple Bite of Reality workshops, volunteered at the Eagles Nest and First United Methodist Church Food Pantries, attended the Community Service Center Donor Appreciation Lunch, and participated in local business grand openings and community celebrations like the Village of Rantoul Halloween Party.
Branches also focused on seasonal community engagement and education The Plano Branch participated in the annual Treats on the Streets trick-or-treating event, engaging with over 1,000 children and their families and spreading holiday cheer in the community. The Matteson Branch participated in the Chicago Heights Trunk or Treat, the Fall Harvest Festival, and the University Park Open House. The UIC Branch attended the All Employee Expo and the Building Wealth Today for Tomorrow financial empowerment summit.
Across the country, Credit Union 1’s teams continued to provide financial guidance, volunteer support, and community connections, making October a month full of meaningful engagement, learning opportunities, and outreach for all ages.
