April was a strong month of community impact across Credit Union 1, highlighted by financial education, volunteer service, and local partnerships.

The month began with Bob Eberhardt, Chairman of the Board, who led financial literacy workshops at Townsend Elementary School for 4th and 5th graders. The Credit Union 1 annual food drive came to a close, and each of the branches donated a collective total of 3,874 items supporting organizations such as the Rich Township Food Pantry, Respond Now of Chicago, and the Community Service Center of Northern Champaign County.

The Big Lake Branch reinforced budgeting skills through a follow-up financial literacy class focused on the psychology of spending. The Community Relations team sponsored the Apollo Boys High School Basketball Team in St. Cloud, MN. The Fraser Branch engaged with families at YMCA of Macomb County Family Day, while the Matteson Branch connected with community members at the University Park Resource Fair. The Minot Branch participated in the MSU Career Expo and sponsored the Minot North High School Girls Soccer Team. The Paseo Branch supported youth literacy by reading to students. In Plano, the branch attended the Chamber Annual Dinner and Bunny Hop community event. The Rantoul Branch remained highly active, supporting Head Start Book Mentors, raising over $4,500 through the Chamber Cash Bash, and volunteering at both the Eagles Nest and First United Methodist Church Food Pantries. Across all locations, April reflected Credit Union 1’s continued commitment to education, service, and meaningful community impact.
