Credit Union 1 Donates $40,000 to
the American Heart Association

This past fall, Credit Union 1 had the chance to partner with the American Heart Association through their virtual Heart Walk experience. We came “together” to raise funds and get active together for a mission that is doing important work for communities across the country.

The American Heart Association relentlessly works to improve the health of our community. They are doing invaluable work addressing the growing health equity gap by focusing on access to healthcare, food, education, and safe spaces for exercise in our community, especially on the south and west sides of Chicago, in addition to the tremendous research they are doing around COVID-19, cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, brain health, and mental health.

We are committed to supporting our members and communities, now more than ever. Knowing the rising need for the critical work they are doing for our community, through our partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago we are providing $40,000 to American Heart Association in aid of these efforts.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s (FHLBank Chicago) Targeted Impact Fund provides members with grants to support relief efforts for populations hardest-hit by COVID-19 as well as to promote equity and opportunity for communities of color. The Targeted Impact Fund opened on Monday, August 17, 2020 with funding available through Tuesday, November 10, 2020. For more information visit fhlbc.com.
